Basically it is impossible to leave a post. I have tried myself and nothing reaches the approval stage.

But link cowboys try to asttach endless malicious links to my guestbook.

Every link that anybody tries to post sends me an email , but none of them is ever visible on the link approval screen.

So if it did work it would be useless because of the volume of malicious links that would have to be disapproved.

Tony Blooman took pity on me before and changed my folder permissions which allowed the guest book to work for a while. however since I recreatd the guest book it has not worked

Could you please kindly verify that you have permission number 777 in your public folder  (you need to ask your provider) and make sure your public folder is written like this ''public'', not like this ''/public''.

Samantha I changed the text from "/public" to "public" and lo it added a comment to 2hfn3wc1 and the webpage shows 1 comment but when I log in to approve it I cannot see it. I suspect that my log in is looking at the wrong guest book?

Whoa I found the drop down and selected the right book and I now have a comment posted. Deep Joy!! My book had been off air for 9 months.

Well done, great job!

If you wish to delete your Guestbook, simply go into the page you have added it in and delete the Html and widgets object you have used to add it. Once this has been done, please upload your website again.

No I do not want to delete guestbook Number 2hfnwc1 which works. I need to delete the guestbook Number 6d46cyk which must be a previous attempt. The trouble is I cannot see either of them in my web hosts's file manager.

Why do good posts show as "marked as abuse " in my control panel when they are not abuse?

Well I suggest you delete your rentire project from your server and reload it again it has probably stored your old guestbook in it. Please try and let me know.

What do you mean? Could you please attach a screenshot of the posts? They shouldn't be marked as abuse if they aren't actually of course!

When you say delete my entire project do you mean select the export all files option in step 5?

Or do you mean delete sub directories on my hosts server because that scares the bejabus out of me?

There is an abuse button which appears on the guest book when my site is online and I cannot see anywhere in incommedia to disable it..

Probably loaded numerous Guestbooks which as Sam says needs deleting.....
