When a user logs in, how long do the locked pages remain accessible to him?

I uploaded a web site and logged in to the "members area" locked pages. When I had confirmed that all was working well, I closed my browser. SIX hours later, I went back onto that site, and found that I could still access those pages without logging in again. I wondered if Website X5 uses cookies to remember the computer accessing the restricted area. My concern is that some-one else, using my computer, could access the reserved area without logging in.

you can modify the cache of your browser in your pc.
If you reset it, you need to login in you site.
