Mouseover Image That Adds To Cart  en

I'm using an image (a button) which is also used to add to cart...

However I want to be able to add a mouseover effect on the buy button like on most common retail sites. Any ideas on how to get around this? Or an HTML code which can be used to link to cart.

If you mean on a page?

You can add to cart by using an image i.e. add image in text block element, click on image and then click on link. You will find add to cart.

This is fine if you have a few products but a pain if you are dealing with thousands of items.

Or you can add an image to either a Gallery object and use the link and select add to cart

Or Image is exactly the same process.

If I have not got the explanation right, please explain in full

Thanks for the reply

The problem is that I want to use either a flash button OR an image with a mouseover effect.

Using a flash button would be preferable, however there is no option to link the flash files to add to cart.

Have a look at the page for a better idea of what I mean...

www.weeklybargainblog.com/10.10.2011.html

I've put 2 buy buttons on the page just for you to see the difference.  The "I want it!" button on the top is a flash button file...when you hover your mouse over the top of the button it changes colour.  (much like you get on the main menu accross the top of the page) However that file has no option to be used as an add to cart button.

The "i want it!" button further down (near the price) is a static image which can be lined to cart (which is what you was explaining before)

So do you know how I might get the same effect as the flash button+add to cart using X5?

Thanks for your help!

Take a look at this demo site created by Incomedia:

http://tees.websitex5.com/yellow-shoes.html

That's what you're looking for ? The code for the buttons seems to be in javascript and should work on any browser.

You can get a tutorial on how they created that website and cool design here:

But I wish they could tell us more about that specific mouseover code.

Yeah pretty much like the effect they have used on their footer buttons.. I've come to the conlcusion there's no option to do it using the tools provided on x5... I guess I just need to find the right code somewhere.

Using Flash buttons would be great... but there's no option to use them as links either. There's a suggestion for the next upgrade ;)
