Hello,
I think the button is used with a cookie. BTW, it is how it looks on my own site. When I click it, I return to the PREVIOUS e-commerce page I visited.
By e-commerce page, I say a page where there is a product to buy.
If for example I never visited such a page and go to see my shopping cart, it is empty and "continue shopping" does nothing. But if I came from a e-commerce page and click "continue shopping", I am sent to this last visited page.
Doesn't it do the same by your own ?

Dear Samuel, I see that Your answer is correct, but situation is not. Any button when it is only button on clients screen should... no... must give posibility to move somewhere on website, OR must be another button like (Start Shopping) OR You will lose the part of the clients.
Or not?
Hello E. Karlsons,
I would like to remember you that you can open on Answers an “Idea” post where you suggest us the features you would like to have in the future releases of WebSite X5.
Many thanks!

Thank You, Claudio D. I just hope, than idea of that already realized in v.10.
I hoped that for v.10 the E-commerce shopping cart would have been much improved...

But Jorge. Did You noticed, that the project is commercial? Which commercialist will put in Your shopping cart all what You wish but is not in Moda for the price of one piece but in Moda? Whait... maybe... in some day....

No, Jorge! It is much improved! But, but, but.... The button "Continue shopping" still doesn't take you back to the e-shop like in X5 V9. After You buy something - impossible to go back to the site Home if You have no site menu. :) And many others questions are still in open phase.
