I notice that I can upgrade from V9 Compact to V10 Evolution at a reduced price but there is no mention of upgrading to V10 Compact. Is there that option available and, if so, at what cost?

Hello Ron,

Unfortunately there is no upgrade offer from Compact 9 to Compact 10.

If you require any further information, please feel free to write back.

Thank you.  I've upgraded to Evo 10.

The question now arises, I have written a website for someone else in Compact 9.  They will be buying Compact 10 to maintain it themselves.  If I need to do some editing for them, how can I maintain compatibility with their Compact 10?  Or wil they have to buy Evo 10?

Hello Ron,

You can export the projects from Compact 9 and then import these projects in Compact 10.

To maintain the compatibility the project, in the future has to be edited with Compact 10 because if it's edited with the Evolution Version it cannot be imported in the Compact Version.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

Thanks Claudio.

Let me explain, hopefully, a little better.

I developed their new website in Compact 9 but I have since bought Evo 10.  It appears I can still use Compact 9 to work on their website.

However, if they buy Compact 10 (as 9 is no longer available), and they edit it, I will no longer be able to use Compact 9 on it - so I would have to use Evo 10.

If I do further edits in Evo 10 can I  still export it in a form that they can import and maintain it with Compact 10 - providing I don't use and Evo 10 features?  Or should they buy Evo 10, too?

Thinking about it, Evo 10 would allow them to add eCommerce in the future.

Hello Ron,

Projects edited or made in the Evolution Version cannot be opened with the Compact because there are functions that are not present in the Compact Version.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

Hi Bill,

Incomedia are currently offering 12 months web hosting with One.com along with a free domain name...  however, this is only for those who purchase the Evolution version of the software.

If you do not currently own or have access to any web space then you will unfortunately not be able to upload to the internet in Step 5.

However, you can purchase the domain name of your choice along with some starter web space at very modest cost from one of the many resellers on the internet.

Just do a Google search for something like 'webhosting', 'web host provider', 'web host'
