You advertise 1500 templates - when i click the templates button i only see a few?

did you use all the options above the templates selections ?

I just clicked "show all" at the bottom - it shows me 52 in total

These are custom templates made by users. I think what you have read are the templates that are within websiteX5 V10. (general settings -> template selection.)
Have you bought x5 V10? Then these templates are available on the mentioned page.
