Buttons with Links

Hi, I am using Website X5 Compact 9. I would like to have a webpage with several buttons, each of which direct to a .pdf file contained in a /Library file on line, so that the user can click the button to download the file. I have not found yet the possibility of embedding a link in a button.
I have tried using the pdf widget, but that works rather differently, and when the webpage opens, the pdfs download straight away. This is not always what a user would want to do.

Most browsers will automatically attempt to open files of any description (not just PDF)
The issue is not directly concerned with X5 as such.
The key here would be to change the format of your file by compressing it into a ZIP or RAR archive or similar. This will invoke the download feature on the user's browser.
Alternatively, you can let your users know that they can right-click on your PDF links and select 'Save As' - provided of course that you have not disabled the right-click functionality in your project from within X5.
