Windows 8 cant read my back up

Good afternoon all,
I have recently bought a new computer which has windows 8 on it, I have backed up my web sites on to memory sticks from old computer (Windows xp), but when I open Website x5 either on the PC or by clicking on the saved project on the memory stick, well what ever I do, the computer does not see the project, any help would be grateful, upgraded machine as my old computer, you could go and make a brew whilst it was working on projects

My License says version 8, if this helps any?
Hello Simon,
Did you try to start the program and then to click on the button "..." in the project selection screen to open the windows file manager to locate the project file?
Does the project file you saved has as extension .IWP?

Yes I did that, tried it all ways, but even though I know its there x5 does not see it, closed programme re-booted it, re installed it, just does not see the IWP file?
I did the export feature of old system of prject, the tried opening on new system,, sees it in explorer, but x5 does not see anything?

please forgive me, I have 2 accounts and ive downloaded 8 from old account and not 10 from my new account, 10 is installed and all working fine now, thank you
