How can I to turn (Switch) off my Blog with out removing it

Hi I have been getting so much spam on my blog, I have cucha running but it just do not prevent spam. the other question is how can I switch off my blog without removing it completly. The Blog is a very importain part of my website, but there is so much spam coming into it I spend far to long having to delete them all manualey. Regards Christine

Hi Christine, if I understood your problem would be enough, to avoid an immediate pubblication of the comments, to tick the box about their approval and do the same for the anti-spam box...

Thank you for the information, What I really want to do is to run my blog without it filling up with spam (juckmail) I have run the capcha but it just do not stop the spam, I had the box ticked to say comments after aproval,thats fine but I get so many spam sent to my address inbox telling me I have emails regards the blog but all they are is spam. I need to stop this spam, can you help? or is this a section of X5 that has had problems in the pass with spam. Please respond in laymen terms as I am not a whizkid with this software. The Captcha is used to block the spam which passes the Spam black list filter on the hosting server because alone it cannot block it completely.
You need to check if your hosting provider has a blacklist filter for spam bots otherwise it will be not possible to block them.
What you can try is to make some exports of the website because with every export the captcha adds new letters to make it more difficult to guess them but without the hosting server filter it will not be able to block them for a long time.
