Lost websites in V9 replaced with iwprj files that are corrupt  en

I have many websites created in V9. One website created in V9 and last edited 2 years ago. Now all greyed out in Explorer and have tried to rename the backup.iwprj to project.iwprj and do all the other things people at Incomedia have suggested and users....but.

I have also followed all the suggestions that have worked and the closest I got with Windows 7 as my O/S is to start a New Project with a similar name to the corrupt project, then save and bail out of that straight away. Then copy all the Preview, Upload directories and files they contain and override the new project ones with same name. Also override and copy old file metatdata, preview.jpg and the project and backup iwprj files.

Then open the app X5 v9 and after ensuring the Prefernces are as previous folks have said is looking at the correct Project File, have opened "Edit an existing project" and clicked on the new project created with all the files updated with old files.

Now it all looked good to open the website and got to the progress bar "Creating Project files...." and it stalls at 93%. I have to Ctl/Alt /Delete to bring up task manager to stop the program as it is jammed open trying to do this function.

Now Im stuck....alsmost there...

Help!

Hello Rob,

You can send us an email with the zipped project folder as attachment to file@answers.websitex5.com using as Subject “Post 99648 per Claudio D.” so we can test it to see if it can be fixed.
If your project size is more than 10 megabytes, you can use online services like www.wetransfer.com to send  us your project.

Please let me know as soon as you send it.

Many thanks!

I finally ignored your Incomedia initialising project bars that said they could not save the project in version 9. and just clicked the "next" button.

Do not "preview" as the "save" function is broken here.

Just open the project and "export" and it will make a zip file. Seems X5 cant do any updating to newer version if you cant make a *.iwzip file.

Then opened X5 version 11 the latest and it imported the iwzip file no problem.

A work around to a bad coding I think but it works better than another post suggesting you use the preview folder files and start again.
