I have a New problem when I need to add a photo to a page.
Before this started I would add the photo widget to the cell. I would then open it up and click the add add image folder then all my photos would show, then I chose the photo and it was done.
Now all I get is a different way to access my photos but when I use it it shows folders and blank looking files. This is so frustrating.
Plesase see the attached shot of this problem. Instead of my photos showing up I now get blank image files. It appears the link to pictures has been lost? When I open Pictures they are all there on my computer but not when adding them from X5.
Please Please provide a solution. Giulio

Try selecting on top-left local file (i assume all your files you look for are on your harddrive. Select the folder of your harddrive there.

Hi Andre,
Thank you for your response, I do click local files but it brings up only a few photos and mostly all blank ones. It used to be when I clicked on the add folder it went to all my pictures, now it is a mess. It dosen't even show "Pictures" Folder.
I hope I can get this resolved.
I notice on my other computer where I have X5 installed everything worked correctly. Until I added the latest update and now I have the same problem.
I am thinking it is definitely a software issue, who can be contacted about this?
Giulio, try holding the CTRL key down while you click to open files. This appears to work as expected unless adding an image to a text link.
Incomedia are aware of this issue.

Hi Esahc
You Did It! Thank you for this temporary fix to this problem, now I can see the images.
I needed to create a new page and could not do it without seeing the pictures but now I can, Thanks To YOU!
One thing I would like for you to do, is bring to the attention of Incomedia, being they are aware of this issue.
In cases like this it would be very helpful for them to send out an email describing an issue and that they are aware of it and working on a fix. In this particular case sugessting to hold down the control key as a temporary work around would save a lot of missery and time lost.
Thank you again for your quick response and solution, it is greatly appreciated...

Hi Esahc
Is Incomedia going to address this issue in a timely manner? It has been quite awhile since this problem in accessing photos has appeared.
I also noticed adding a photo in a text does not work.
Thank you for your support.
Hi Giulio!
I have reported this issue, I will let you know as soon as I have some news.
Thanks! Kind regards.
Hi Giulio,
could you please reinstall the software?
Please make sure, after you uninstall it, to delete the WebSite X5 -Pro folder you find on C:\Users\ The Admin username \AppData\Local\Incomedia\ (not the one you have your projects saved in, you may want to create some iwzip backup files before proceeding). Then, please re-activate the software using your usual e-mail, password and licence and please let me know if you experience the same issue again.
Thank you!
Kind regards.

Hi Elisa
Thank you for your suggestion to reinstall the software. Can you please send me more detailed information on uninstalling the software, I am a little nervous about messing everything up.
I am having difficulty finding the the folders C:\Users\ The Admin username \AppData\Local\Incomedia\
your support is greatly appreciated. Giulio
Hi Giulio,
before proceeding, you could create an iwzip backup file of your projects, so you are 100% sure that nothing will happen to them. Open your project, go to Step 5 and click on "Export the project". Then, define the folder you want to save your project in and click on Start.
You can then uninstall the program as you usually do directly from the Windows Control Panel.
As per the AppData folder, if you can't find it, you need to open the Windows Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization. Select Folder Options, then select the View tab. Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then select OK.
Thanks! Kind regards.

Hi Elisa
Tomorrow I will have someone helping me with uninstalling the program as you suggest.
Please let me know the exact procedure to reinstall the program, where and how to get it to reinstall.
I hope to hear back from you today so we will be ready to do the reinstall tomorrow morning.
Thank you, Giulio
Hi!
You will be able to download the program again from this page:
https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/community/users/4897/downloads
Then, please start the .exe file and follow the guided installation procedure. You will then have to activate it. You can find the licence here, and the e-mail and password you need to report are the ones you have used to register it the first time.
Thanks! Kind regards.
I hope for a quick fix for this problem... It should have been solved two weeks ago... Fix it and throw out the automatic update and that's it...

Elisa
Thank you for your support. I understand you are recommending me to reinstall the program which I will be paying someone to do it for me.
My question is, if the last update has this bug in it that created this problem in the first place, it appears to me I will be doing this and downloading the same program with the same issue in it.
Why hasn't Incomedia addressed this issue in a timely manner? All the other web creation platforms out there create a fix right away.
Has someone gone to sleep? Are they on Vacation and don't care about resolving this problem? This is very disapointing.
I don't want to be a complainer, but seriously, something is not making sense. What is lacking on their part?
Soon Incomedia will be asking to upgrade to the new version, this will be a problem if they don't fix this issue first.
Please Tell them to get on this right away or hire some skilled tech that can do the work for them.
Please let me know what you think.

Please someone help with my issue.
I have the current Evo version and I have the choice between WebSite X5 Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Folder icon or image icon, when inserting images in the text, click and WebSite X5 Explorer appears.
Hold down the Ctrl key (German keyboard Strg key) and click the folder icon or picture icon when inserting pictures in the text, and Windows Explorer will appear.

This has been my problem. For some reason, the Image Icon does not show up anymore so I am forced to click the Folder Icon, and unless I press the Control Key all I see are Blank photo files. There are a few other bugs I have to get around so maybe I need to reinstall the program as Elisa suggests.
I understand Incomedia is aware of this problem, But why is it taking them so long to correct it?
Thank you for your advice.
Hello Giulio
At the moment, if what you are encountering specifically is that no image gets a Preview image on them, I can confirm that this hasn't been reported by other users.
Many times, it gets claimed by some users that their issue is identical to others, but I can confirm that assuming I understood the problem correctly, this is not the case.
To be sure, if you go to the local file section, what do you see?
And if you go to the Library section instead and click on "Grid" here:
You should find that your images start loading previews after a short while. If this isn't so, try proceeding with the new installation as Elisa advised
Let me know if this changes anything
Thank you
Stefano
Grazie
Hi, in summary, for those who do not want to translate my posts from Italian...
There is a real problem with some files: if you use the NEW WEBSITE X5 file selection, some files do not have any previews. The same files, with the old file selection method (Windows explorer), have a regular preview. It is not a question of waiting for the preview to load as Stefano explained, I have waited many minutes but the previews do not exist.

Hi Giuseppe
I am Italian but never learnd the language... Too bad for me...I am in Miami Florida.
I was struggling to translate your previous messages so I am very greatful you have presented in English.
I don't think Incomedia fully understans there is a real problem. Is there any way we can have the photos open in the old way? It was So simple and convenient.
I really don't want to go through the inconvenience of reinstalling the program if I don't need to. Just to find out the problem still exists.
I am anaxiously waiting to hear from you.

Latest update on this issue is appreciated
Hello Giulio
Once again I wish to ask you to please proceed and try to reinstall the software. The issue proposed by Giuseppe is of a different nature and is not related to what you're encountering specifically. Just to name a few:
1_ The fact that the Folder preview is the same whether the folder is empty or not is so by design of the new Selection System and it is not an error.
2_ The fact that TIF files don't have previews is due to the fact that TIF wasn't kept under consideration in the current release. However, this new functionality has just been released and we're currently working on it to improve and fix the first issues that arose
3_ The PNG images work fine. The fact that some specific images don't doesn't mean that all PNGs don't work. It is possible that the PNG file exceeds a certain size and by configuration, the preview won't be generated. This will be verified in a new topic however
To address the issue you're having specifically Giulio, please proceed with the reinstallation as advised
Thank you
Stefano
