Yesterday I did a lot of work on a new page using X5Pro. Everything was responsibly saved. Today there is no trace of the work I did, even in Backups. Does anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
Barry

What is missing? If the changes have already been uploaded to the Internet, then at least texts, images and other things can be fetched from there.
Searched in the Windows recycle bin?
Did you also look in the project directory?

Where to find the Project folder
When you work on your project and apply some changes, these are locally stored and then uploaded online the first time you export the website. But where does the program store these changes?
The default path is C:\Users\Your-Username\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro/Evo, but you can verify and possibly reset it by selecting the Preferences window on the program Welcome page. The path is the one reported in the Projects folder field.

Otherwise wait for the moderators and an employee of Incomedia.

Nothing had been uploaded as I was still working on the page. It seems very strange that there doesn't seem to be anything in Backups or the Project file - how can this happen?
If WebSite X5 is behaving strangely, a fresh installation often helps.
Barry, where is your default project folder, and is there any chance it is in a synchronised folder (Microsoft like to move documents, pictures, etc into the one-drive folder).
If you cannot find it, can you search for the incomedia folder (usually in documents) with windows explorer? If you find it the project should be in the website x5 - pro folder and visible once you set this as the default in preferences at startup.
If the website x5 - pro folder is empty I am not sure what could have happened unless it is synchronised and you are not logged in or you are working on an external device and it is not connected.
Please advise if the project folder at least exists.

Yes, everything exists and is where it aught to be, it's just that the project folder and the backup folder were missing an evening's work. Never mind - thank you for your input...I've taken it as a sign from the Universe and have re-done everything in a better way.
best wishes

Barry, since you have seen the sign, please take steps to include a real backup as I do after every major editing session (the built in backup is of dubious value).
Go to step 5, export project (I exclude backups and preview). This will give you an iwzip file which can be imported in case of catastrophe (even to a different PC). I rename each iwzip by appending month +date so I have multiple fall backs.

Yes - I got the message and have started doing that....Thanks.
BTW just wondering.....my version of Pro is 2-3 years old and the e-commerce is a bit clunky. I see that they've done some improvements to e-commerce in a subsequent version but it's hard to see if the result is worth the investment....any thoughts/observations?
best wishes
