Why is a product page not showing for an e-commerce site?
Autore: Ross P.Hello
I have now sorted out the problem getting .csv files to load but I have noticed that they do not seem to automatically set up the Product page like they used to when manually loaded up, so I tried adding some pages manually and they don't seem to be setting up the product page as well now.
The site is not live as all the products are not included yet, so the pages are hidden for the time being.
I am wondering if the last update (2025.2.8) has anything to do with it as the manual uploads before that showed up correctly and still do on a project page.
Has anyone got any ideas of what I am doing wrong please?
I have included a zip file of some images of the various page and products set ups incase I am doing something incorrect there.
Kind regards
Ross
Hello Ross,
unfortunately no file was attached, could you please check?
Autore
Sorry Eric
The file must have been too big - try this one?
Thank you
Ross
Hello Ross,
this one was attached.
Could you clarify something? The empty Product Page appears when previewing directly from Step 1 - Settings ---> E-commerce, whereas if you preview the Search Page and click on a product from there, it is displayed, from what I gathered in the screenshots?
Could you please check if the situation is the same if you press CTRL while clicking the preview icon?
You should see a loading bar during the preview.
Autore
Hello Eric,
The empty product page shows when you try to view it by clicking on the title of the product from the cart search page -
cartsearch/index.html?sortOrderBy=relevance&categories=8sof26xn|ivre9nyr
As well as from the preview, direct from the Product list setting page and the webpage which includes the catalogue (wallpaper-catalogue.html) both of which direct to this page - product/index.html?g-2-vintage-blossom-wallpaper
Pressing the CTRL button seems to make no difference, sorry.
Hello Ross,
could you please provide me with a copy of the project to take a look?
You can export it in Step 5 - Export, choosing the “Export the project” option to generate an IWZIP file.
You can then upload the file with https://www.swisstransfer.com/ or similar services, and provide a download link at support @ incomedia.eu (without the spaces).
Thank you.
Hello,
I was not able to replicate the issue.
I used the same product you mentioned as a reference, g-2-vintage-blossom-wallpaper, and I could see the Product Page by previewing in the list of products, in the page containing the Product Catalog object and also in the Product Search page.
I uploaded the website to my hosting space as a test to confirm its behavior online as well, you can check it as well, here:
https://eric-c.websitex5.me/progetti/dollshouses.co.nz/wallpaper-catalogue.html
https://eric-c.websitex5.me/progetti/dollshouses.co.nz/cartsearch/index.html
What happens if you launch preview mode in a browser?
Autore
Thank you, Eric.
Attached are 3 images of what I get when previewing the page in different browsers.
The main site is live, but the shopping site is not at this stage while it is being developed. Would this be causing the problem?
I also notice, [tag-title-placeholder] - Sheena's Dolls Houses & Miniatures, after the W5 logo, on the pages that don't seem to work, but pages that do work seem to have the name as per the attached image - Bag Style Chandelier 1.12 - Sheena's Dolls Houses & Miniatures?
One other question I have is when importing products via .csv, is there a way to add the price difference in the options field?
Thanks
Ross
Hello Ross,
unfortunately the .csv file does not include the price differences.
You may want to export the website in its current state, in a test subfolder for testing purposes for example, to see whether you notice any issues or if it is only the preview that is affected.
You would need to create a subfolder in the main destination folder and enter it, and also adjust the URL accordingly, see screenshot.

Hello Eric
As suggested I have now uploaded the website to a test site and it is still not working as per this page: https://dollshouses.co.nz/test/wallpaper-catalogue.html
Not sure why but some pages are just going back to the home page.
Kind regards
Ross
Hello Ross,
is the version you uploaded now the same you provided me with?
May I also make a similar test, uploading in a test subfolder?
Thank you.
Autore
Hello Eric
Yes it is the same version (I don't think I made any major changes to it while I have been trying to get it to work - but if you need a new file please let me know) as I provided you with and you are very welcome to make a similar test.
Please let me know if there is anything else you require.
Thanks for all your help and effort, it is really appreciated.
Kind regards
Hello,
I uploaded it here:
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08
I could reach the product page both from the Catalog and Product Search, could you check as well?
Autore
Sorry Eric
That link only took me to the home page without the shop button in the menu so I could not check it.
Sounds like you have been working hard.. Thank you.
Hello,
the URL of the pages is the same, although the initial part is different because of the subfolder:
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08/wallpaper-catalogue.html
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08/cartsearch/
Autore
Thank you Eric
That is fantastic. Yes I can see it working.
Does that mean I should not be uploading by .csv to a subfolder?
Kind regards
Ross
Hello Ross,
what do you mean?
Are the products in the version you sent to me not imported through a .csv as well?
... ... This link on /test-06-08/ created by Eric works:
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08/product/?g-1-fairy-garden-delight ... (Va bene)...
... ! ... This link on /test/ doesn't work:
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test/product/?g-1-fairy-garden-delight ... ... (NO! -> INDEX-ROOT)!
... !... this link on ROOT doesn't work:
https://dollshouses.co.nz/product/?g-1-fairy-garden-delight... ... (NO! -> INDEX-ROOT)!
...Perhaps an outdated or corrupt server-side ".htaccess" file was used in both directories...
.

Hello Eric
Sorry about the confusion, but the comment I made related to my observation of the system as follows:
The file you were testing (Wallpaper - General Range) was uploaded by .csv (as were the folders, Sheenas Specialty Orders - Fine Furniture Range Bedroom and Home Décor - Carved Wallpaper Panels), all of which do not show correctly.
However, the (Lighting) folder and the subfolders were loaded manually yet work correctly.
As KolAsim suggested the ".htaccess" should I contact my Hosting provider to get them to check/review/update their file - I just add that to the website via the cPanel File Manager?
Thanks again for your help.
Kind regards
Ross
Hello,
the .htaccess file does not contain any custom code, so I believe the issue does not lie there.
So have you noticed some product pages not working even in the test-06-08 version I uploaded?
Which ones?
Autore
Hi Eric
The 2 pages you sent work fine
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08/wallpaper-catalogue.html
https://dollshouses.co.nz/test-06-08/cartsearch/
Will you be sending me information on what I have to do to add future files?
Cheers
Ross
Hello,
I don't think the issue lies in how you added the products, as the project I published had the same products you added through different means.
There may be a local issue occurring during the upload, I will generate the IWZIP again on my computer, could you check the result after uploading this one?
Can I send it to the e-mail address you have associated with the account?
Autore
Thanks Eric
Yes that will be fine.
Thanks
Hello,
I sent you the download link.
Please import the project and, after a CTRL + Preview, export it (currently it still has the URL and path of my test, you can of course change them) and let me know if you still encounter the issue.
Autore
Thank you, Eric very much.
Yes the downloaded file seems to be working well
I will have some uploads to do tomorrow, adding some more products and see how it goes. I assume I will not have to do anything different to be done on the.csv files?
Is there any simple explanation why this was happening in the first place please, Eric.
Once again I thank you for the time and effort that you have spent in working through this situation and helping me.
Kind regards and have a nice day.
Ross
Hello Ross,
yes, you should be able to go ahead and add other products as you were doing.
Unfortunately I could not identify the exact cause, I suspect something may have been happened locally, for example with some of the files of the project being corrupted, this is why I wanted to generate the IWZIP on my end to see if the behavior differed.

Thanks Eric, you have been a great help and support. I uploaded some more products today with no problem at all.
The was another wee problem that showed up last night with a different part of the system which I got help with regarding adding special instruction text to the shopping cart index back on 20 July 2025. Which I got to work well until one of my other e-commerce clients said the message was also appearing on their order. Is there a way the message can just relate to one client?.
Sorry but if you would like me to start another discussion for this question I am happy to do so.
Thanks for all your help.
Kind regards
Ross
Hello Ross,
yes I would suggest opening a separate post with all the details about this other matter, thank you.
