Upgrading to a new version  en

Version 13 is now a famous version. We are many users that have had many problems with this.

There is probably a new version on its way.

On the forum I have seen many that now want to upgrade to a new version, and at the moment this would be version 13. I think many have waited with an upgrade when they saw all the posts with all the problems in this version.

Now it is rather stable. And many now want to upgrade. The persons that has a version 10 has to pay the full price.

I think it is on time, that INCOMEDIA tell these people what to do. They will be disappointed customers if they buy v13 now and then in 2 month see there is a new version 14.

My idea is : INCOMEDIA should offer the v13 to full price for those who have v10 ( and eventually new customers ) , but with the right to a free upgrade to v14.

For those with v13 they should offer a really good discount to those that helped betatesting v13 by buing a version they thought was past this stage.

Kind regards

John S.

I have always been pleasantly surprised by the discounts and encouragements offered by incomedia, that is how and why I am currently a V13 pro user (and started with a free version back at V7).

Imagine if it was run by Microsoft :-(

V13 was not and is not a beta product. Issues that have been identified have been fixed (in spite of probable developments towards V14 in the background) except where 3rd party software (and inexplicably Microsoft) has "broken" the installation.

Anyone with a need to upgrade should do so. A website created in V9, V10 or V11 was before the need (requirement) of responsive sites. WX5 does this better and easier than any other product I am aware of.

Maybe the text in my idea ( it should be win/win ) could be misunderstood. I will try another way.

The V 13 has been there for nearly a year, and if all is normal, now a new version should come soon.

1 - the benefit for a user with v10 ( or lower ), should be that they could buy the V13 for the full price and to avoid that they should invest shortly after, they should have a free upgrade to the next version. This way they actually buy the V 14 for the full price, and as they have the need now, they can until then use the V 13.

2 - The benefit for a potential new user - Much the same as for a v10 or v 9 user. This potential new user will not from start be a disappointed user when he finds out that it was already an old software he bought.

3 - The benefit for INCOMEDIA should be that they already now can sell v 14 for a full price - without having the product ready.

When the new v 14 IS ready, it can be bought with some introductory discount by new users starting here, or by v 13 users. ( as usual )

My idea is to give users the chance to start with the software already now. If it is new users, then it will be a good thing that they start on a known and stable version. This will make it easier to give good support to new users - both support from INCOMEDIA and from existing users that is familiar with the existing version. This will give a new user a good first impression of the software. And then the user can upgrade to the new version and I think he will be a more satisfied user this way.

That was my idea - the idea is pointed to INCOMEDIA - they should see it as an input from a user.

I have made it public so other users could comment on it. Pro's and contra's to the idea.

Kind regards

John S.
