I bought Website x5 Evolution 14 this weekend. When I first load a project, it takes ages to complete the task.
I am unable to enter anything in the content area as it seems to be protected.
On the website, the cookies warning seems to come up on almost every page.
I am not impressed with this product.

Andrew, could you please provide a screen grab of where you are attempting to add content? Can we also assume you have started a new project and simply selected a template?
In WX5 you need to go to step 4 Pages, then add the type of object you want into one or many cells, then you can double click on the object and make appropriate changes or additions.

Hi Esahc.
Here is a screen copy of the Text Object screen.
I added a text box to the Page Creation screen. I double-clicked on the text box. That went to the Text Object screen.
I can't type any content or paste any content.
Andrew, it sounds like there might be missing or incomplete support libraries in Windows or a conflict with your firewall/anti-virus/malware, I have also seen this once where a system had an extra-ordinary number of fonts installed. Rather than guess and suggest reinstalling C++ and .net libraries, etc I think we should wait for a response from Incomedia. You may wish to provide details of your operating system and any malware, firewall or anti-virus programs you are running to assist them.
Whilst you are waiting, it would not hurt to try running WX5 after a clean boot to see if that resolves the problem. There is a known issue with Reason Core Security, and under some circumstance Kaspersky Internet Security brings a bit of grief.

Everything is working now. Reason Core Security was the problem.
It is not my main security program, but it does start automatically. I remember it reporting a suspect file which I deleted.
The warning didn't appear immediately I installed X5, so I didn't connect the two.
I switched off Reason Core and re-installed X5.
Thank you very much for your help.
Great result!!
(you may wish to mark this as solved in case it helps others unaware that Reason Core Security is a problem)
Hello Andrew,
I informed the developers about the issue with Reason Core Security.
It is showing a false positive and if you delete the shown file then the program cannot work correctly.
Many thanks!
