Hi

Every time I aproach Pro 14 or the update 15 I meet new problems. Now the spacing between menu items is odd inside Pro 15 updated.

Attach the menu in Pro 12 and on the bottom the Pro 15 one which is uneven spaced.

I have deleted the old menu converted from 12 and I have built a new one. The spacing between items is stil odd.

Marius, the v15 menu items appear to be left justified, whilst the v12 menu items appear to be centre justified.

Indeed, but it do not works in any justification. There is an even space that should not exist in any justification as you can see.

Esahc ... you are right! Got no sense for me but changing the justification leads to this even spacing.

Appologies this time, Incomedia :-)

Anyway, the menu settings in Pro 14-15 are exhausting, it is a nightmare.

I know why I have set the left justification for menu: because on the level menu the current page is displayed like attached. There is no way to set it.

Item on mouse over can be set only in Main Menu section and I see it is inherit by the Level Menu where there is no such setting.

In the main menu ettings we can find hamburger button alignment ...

It is driving me crazy!

Marius, I am not sure I understand sorry. Are you referring to the drop down level menu or the left side bar?

Each can be justified left centre or right as far as I know, and each can have different attributes (but beware if upgrading from 13 or earlier, there is frequently a graphic in there that should probably be removed)

In v14/v15 it can be confusing, but that is because with the new menu object there is almost no limit to your imagination. I have one site that had 3 menu's on the page, each with their own attributes.

Perhaps a link to your actual site and a screen shot of what you wish to resolve may help (preferrably in a new post)?

In fact the menu inside Pro 14-15 is more limitated then in Pro 12 - see attached.

The behavior should be like the one in http://www.softedu.eu

Marius, sadly you are wrong.

Because of the new menu object there are far fewer limitations in v15 than any earlier editions.

Please create a new post with specific questions/requiremements

The examples posted - were they from preview? export to disk? export to host?, or export to test directory? You will get odd results with menu highlights (current page) if you export to disk or upload to a temporary directory.

Please identify your problems, I am absolutely sure the limitation is not realising what the new object can do.

The behavior in the previous post is from the preview inside WebSite X5. I did not noticed any difference between preview from pro 15 and preview from browser after upload and it should be like that.

The problem is that, as I have said, the "Item on current page" setting does not exist in the Level menu. This setting is inherit from the "Item on current page" inside Main Menu. Which makes the behaviour shown now on softedu.eu to be impossible to achieve.

Where I make it wrong? Should I open a new post?

Of course Esahc that the menu object in Pro 14-15 is more versatile, you can place it where you want, you can build submenus and so on, but ... it can just not replicate the simple menu built in Pro 12.

Your reply is always a valuable issue, thanks!

Marius, you are quite right, Item on current page option does not exist in the level menu, and either by design or oversight, the current page on the level menu does inherit the current page setting of the main menu. Then again, this option never existed in v12 either, it just does not inherit.

If however you are trying to replicate the side menu on the appropriate pages with highlighted current page, you could look at my (very poor) example attached.

"Then again, this option never existed in v12 either, it just does not inherit."

Yes, this is the reason why I can't build the menu exactly like the one in Pro12.

I will study your example in which I can see that it is possible.

Only the alignment can't be set: if I align center in Main Menu then the Item on current page in Level menu will be also center align which I do not want. If I want to align left all items in Level menu I must align also left in Main Menu which leads to odd spaces between items.

This does not affect the alignment choice of the main menu.

As for your bad alignment in the level menu, try holding CRTL whilst clicking preview. I cannot reproduce that fault.

If you wish further discussion about how to do menus, this should be a new topic. Users will have difficulty finding this discussion if they are having similar issues (& the post is now pretty long).

Hi, Esahc

yes indeed, this post is striclty related to those I have wrote. it is clear now that we are talking about a bug. We'll wait  INCO to solve this, maybe they'll do it.

I am not a lazy one but I did not found this topic inside forum, Esahc. Thank you for the link and for your always good advices.

In the same time it did not ocurred to me the otger way, to rebuild it in Pro 14: seems that the bug is only in Pro 15+updates.

off topic: in my bad english the term "issue" is equal with "subject" not equal with "problem".

Matter of semantics but did not want to offend - just bad terms choosed.
