Can I take parts of a graphic template and add or replace it in my current website made with WebsiteX5?Or is the Cart the same in all WebsiteX5 templates? I have a cart that is not working and all suggestions to fix my issues have not worked. I would like to get a store graphics template and put the cart section into my existing website created with a blank WebsiteX5 template.

My Info/Summary:  I am using WebsiteX5 Pro 16. The URL to my website is https://mntrappers.org. My hosting server is at GoDaddy.com. I have a business account with them where I manage 4 other sites that do NOT have a store. I manage only Non-Profit websites. The website I have problems with is active on the Web. For now, the Souvenir Store on the site is closed until I can get it working properly.

I have 2 problems with my current website Shopping Cart:

  1. The cart will not go to the "store's" email entered on the 'Sending Order' tab of the Shopping Cart. (See attached screenshot of this page). In testing the cart process, when Sending the Order, the buyer gets a confirmation email from the store's email, but the store's email does NOT receive the order.
  2. The confirmation of the order goes to the buyer before the payment is processed. The PayPal "Buy Now" button is after the order is sent. I used a suggestion that someone made in a discussion related to this, but it leaves a question as to whether the buyer actually makes the payment. PayPal sends the funds to the "Bank" and notifies the Treasurer, but NOT the Store. The Store may fulfill the order not knowing that the buyer changed their mind and did not complete the payment process.

I have been trying to fix these issues for almost 4 weeks now with no success. If the cart is the same in all the templates, other users must have had these same issues. Please let me know how you fixed this problem. Please help me get this store working. If I can put a better cart in my website that works, please tell me what template I need and how to merge or replace my cart with one that works correctly.

Hi C. Fox.

I will answer your points one by one:

1_ If you're having issues in receiving the email, this is most probably related to some kind of configuration of your hosting. If one of the emails is leaving your Email Server, then the other should too, except if the email you're using as your Admin is somehow "special". Does it have the same domain as your current website? Please consult with your hosting about this. They should be able to check the Email logs and find out exactly why that specific email isn't working for you

2_ This is the current expected behavior of the cart, and there is currently no way around it. Several Idea topics were opened about this, and the developers have been already informed of this particular need expressed by the users. As of now though, there is still no news on this topic

Let me know if I can provide further information

Thank you

Stefano

Stefano,

I have searched the discussions and only found the one suggestion. It took me a couple hours to find that one. If you can point me to other discussion threads on the ecommerce/cart problem, I would appreciate it. Send me some links to the pages I need to visit. Maybe there are some better ideas out there. I find it VERY difficult navigating the help area, especially in the discussion threads.

Thank you.

Hi C. Fox,

This topic is the one where the most information were offered for the issue:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pl/post/191277

The matter is still being actively discussed by the developing team, and as soon as news is available, it will surely be made public in that specific topic

Thank you

Stefano

Hi C. Fox,

as regards the confirmation e-mail that arrives to the customer, you must set a text where you specify that the order has been regularly carried out but that the customer must wait for the verification of the payment made and the processing of the order before that the goods is sent.

the email that will arrive to the customer and that you can create in the settings of the Shopping Cart E-Commerce, is something similar:

"Dear Customer,
thanking you for the order placed.
Below you can find the list of products ordered, billing information and shipping instructions and the chosen payment. If YOU HAVE NOT YET PROVIDED to pay the order, you can do so by following the instructions in this email. Otherwise, do not keep these instructions in mind.
The order is being processed, as soon as we receive notification of the payment, we will send the ordered goods

We remain at your disposal for further information.

Kind regards"

excuse me for my english, I'm italian
