Hello Jano,

Could you post a screenshot of your upload settings in Step 5 of WebSite X5 please?

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks for the screenshot, Jano.

If you click on the icon highlighted in the image below, can you see the files and folders on your server?

There is a strong possibility that there is a (temporary) issue with your server.  Nothing looks obviously wrong in your FTP settings, and you appear to be passing authentication so your server address and login credentials must be OK too.

I suggest trying any or all of the following, because it is not really clear what is causing this particular problem:

  • Untick the Passive FTP checkbox, which will force Active mode instead...  (if you still can't connect then go back to Passive FTP mode before continuing)
  • Leave the Destination Folder field empty
  • Temporarily disable any hardware or software firewalls in your network
  • Try to connect to your server with a third-party FTP client such as FileZilla: if successful then duplicate the working FTP settings within WebSite X5; if unsuccessful then contact your host for further advice and investigation, quoting the error message which FileZilla reports

If all else fails then in the meantime you might be able to connect using SFTP/SSH, as it is a completely different type of protocol.  You might need to ask your webhost for the correct port setting (default is 22), and whether or not you should use a different username and password.  This might enable you to keep working on your site in the short term.

I'll mark this post for Incomedia's specific attention, but I do feel that this will turn out to be either a localised network problem (e.g. firewall) or server side misconfiguration.

Hi Paul,

I've try all of that, but without success. Now I am in discussion with hosting service provider.

This problem occurs only on this hosting, others I use work correct.

I kind of suspected that, Jano.  Hopefully they will get to the root of the matter quickly for you.

Thanks for updating us, and good luck!
