Update Corrupting Website Files on Conversion  en

My Website X5 software updated today and as my site files are updating, I am getting the same error over and over.  Under Settings>Database Mgmt>Advanced, information is appearing in the database access data fields that previously was left blank.  There is NO way to edit this data or change the settings so I am essentially dead in the water and cannot update the multiple websites I maintain.

When attempting to upload files to my GoDaddy account, I am being told "The main database your chose (IMAC) is not reachable and therefore it isn't possible to migrate the data.  Please check the database connection parameters or choose another database and repeat the conversion.

I am able to export the website to disk and then use a third-party FTP server to upload the files, but this is an additional step I should not have to do.  Everything was working well untll the conversion, and as I am opening and converting sites, this same problem is occurring over and over again.

I'm a web designer, not a programmer, so at this juncture not sure what to do.

When updating from 2021.2 or earlier to 2021.3, there was an adjustment for the database. You have to go back to 2021.2 and prepare the database there according to the instructions so that a valid database can be reached with the first upload with v2021.3. The project was saved in the previous version when you started it for the first time in v2021.3, unless you switched this off manually.

The database remains grayed out until the successful conversion via ftp export to wx5

As someone who does NOT have a programming background, I don't understand the article you referenced.  My sites are pretty simple, mostly WYSIWYG HTML design, so I'm at a loss to know what to do to remedy this problem.  The article you referenced makes no sense to me.

Any guidance you or someone else can offer to a non-techy person?

You don't need to be a programmer to solve the problem.

You can download the previous version V2021.2 in your profile under "download" and install it. After that you can import your hopefully duplicated V2021.2 project and delete the database in the database management.
Then you can convert your project to the new V2021.3.5 and upload it without errors.
