Opening a .docx file on webpage  en

I am using X5 Evolution version 15 (Version 15.2.2 64 bit). I purchased Evo V.2022.3 in November 2022 but have not changed over.

I have two files stored in a folder on website, one is a .pdf and the other is a .docx, both with fillable fields. On a webpage there are links for these files to open in a pop window. The .pdf does open as a webpage with fillable fields but the .docx does not open. An about:blank page appears and no .docx file.

Any idea why .docx won't open, or how to get it to open or initiate a download save file dialogue. I am using chrome.

I tried the browser Edge. The docx opened (and about:blank page) but the fields are not fillable. Any idea why?

Any comments you have will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello. Different browsers react differently to different file formats. It also depends on the browser settings and browser extensions.

I would recommend using a regular link or a "Download Button" object.

Please provide a link to the page where your links are located.

Also, the problem may be related to the full file name (path to the file, file name and its extension). I do not recommend using spaces and special characters in the full path. I also recommend using only English letters.

(It > En) ... ... the DOCX format has nothing to do with the WEB...
... it is a proprietary format of the Microsoft Office application resident on the PC...
... it can work in Edge which is part of the Windows operating system that can communicate with Microsoft Office, ...but it is improper...
... for static viewing on the WEB browser you can use the viewers " view.officeapps" and/or " docs.google.com"...
... as anticipated, you can also use the downlad object, or much more simply the normal link to the file present on the network by adding the "download"  attribute in the <A> tag...
... obviously the docx file will only work for those who have ms-word on their PC, which for example I do not have using OOo.Writer instead
... in the case post the link of this docx file already positioned in your web space to be able to verify...

.

ciao
