That is the problem, I do not find any folder at ftp named as gestbook/somethingelse. WHere is it supposed ti be the guest folder? May be if I know the name I wil find it, because I have looked for it without success.

I have seen you have made a comment in my blog (Test comment). If you do not mind I will proceed to erase it as it sounds weird.

As I see now the appearance is the right one. Then the only thing left is to make it work

I read your guest book, but I guess they are all english speaking people. I have tried to manage with pcssa (now his has fosgotten me ) who speaks spanish. Is not any simple thing I can do to solve the problem? All I need (I guess) is to finde the guestbook folder where the comments are being stored and assure it is the path I write in the Guest Book commands

Marta don't need language..... I can recognise V9 and fix in silence.

I can do it myself but thought it was made by the program just like the others. Where do I set it, In httpdocs? And where are suppose to be the entries I have received by email?

It is done. I have a guestbook folder with 777 permissions. I have tested the guest book with a couple of comments but nothing happens

If I click on the link it drives me to the Welcome page of my web. The Guestbook page in the Manager place is empty, and the folder /guestbook is also empty. All permissions are given.

Are you able to see the comments, ready to be approved, in the Admin section of your website ?

Just tested your guestbook and the error message appearing is the one that is shown when permissions are incorrect. Weird thing. And your blog is working fine ?

But no, I cannot see it in my Admin section. And there is nothing in the /guestbookfolder of my ftp. Permissions are 777.

The part of the blog is working fine.

I continue receiving messages by email and the guestbook folder is empty. Any idea where they are going? Should I write in the whole url path /httpdos/guestbook? I only wrote /guestbook

It did not work either. I chaged tha path and created the guestbook folder under admin. That will be /admin/guestbook. And then changed permission to 777.

I changed the path in the Guestbook box in the web to the new one (/admin/guestbook). Uploaded and after a while I put a comment in my guest book. Now it gives me an advice that did not appear before: Ha habido un problema durante la inserción de la nota (There has been a problem during the comment insertion)

I do receive all the alerts in my email. The solution might be near, but I do not find it

Hi, you don't create a folder "guestbook" in the folder "Admin".

in the principal folder af your site create a folder ,for example, "public".

than in website x5 set in the guestbook detail the "/public" for the folder of the comments.

then request to set the permission 777 for the folder "public".

I created the folder in admin because in the emails I receive from the guestbook messages I saw this:

and I asumed that should be the path. The problem is that when i click ther I go to the welcome page of my web.

I created the new /public folder (it is pending /httpdocs). Nothing new. The messages arrive to my email but the Guestbook shows the sentence "There was a problem loading your comment".

The admin manager is empty and the test page all in green.

If I click in the message received in my email I go to the Welcome page of my web

Still doing this??

PCssa has forgoten me (snif). He does not answer my emails. I thnk there is a problem with the webspace. I changed the permissions to 777 but I checked and they turn back every time to 755. It does not matter where I create the /public folder. I have send a message to my provider.

I made a last intent with the website x5 Guestbook, before changing to the new one. The /httpdocs/public is now with the 777 permissions (I have verified it). I asigned that path in the Guestbook (/httpdocs/public) and uploaded. Now when I write a comment It sais that the Captcha has failed (when it has not as I have writed the Captcha several times correctly and the result is always the same).

Any idea? I have not dowloaded the Beta version

You should download and install V9.0.2.1699. It's not a beta version, it's an official update.

OK. Already downloaded new revision. And Uploaded the web again.

ANd again the guestbook does not work.

Error identifying the Captcha code. It sais Verification Faileur but the code was the correct one.

I visited the page of the Guestbook suggested by Frank, but I do not like to register myself without seeing the contents and I see nothing about that Guest book, I do not know if will manage to make it work or how to insert it in my web.

I would like to use the guestbook and I would very much appreciate a step by step instruction from incomedia. I use one.com so the problem is not theirs. I noticed that when using adim in the root that is to say konsberg.se/admin - I get a red light on blog (I do not have a blog). When using my second admin in konsberg.se/lang2/admin everything green - still my guestbook will not work. /public is 777 and placed in the root. Notifiactions that I receive is useless. So please a step by step instruction!

I cannot find this in the english manual but maybe I am stupid.

What you mean by "root"? All the website folders hang from httpdocs. The folder "public" will hang from there or from upper?

Don't worry. It works!!!! I just deleted the slash bar and it works. It would have been easy to start giving this little instruction.

I am happy thatwe managedto runthe guestbook.

Another surprise with the guest book. Qhen finally it was working fine, and I allready had 8 comments that appeared correctly, I find this morning that there are no comments. In my web it appears as Without comments (SIn comentarios) and in the Manager admin it appears like a mess. Just look in the attached image

Any idea about how to solve this problem?

I quit. Guestbook deleted completely, no help and too many risks with continous spam messages.

I hope they do not change to the blog comments option, because I need the blog working and the Captcha code is absolutely unusefull

Ok, but there were two different problems, the abuse alert and tha spam corrupting all the comments already done

I have thought of a way to put the GB protected from the spam and after downloadin the new revision of X5 I did it.

And I followed all the steps Riccardo pointed above:

But when I put a note, there is a notice that there was a problem uploadin the note.

I do received the email notification (double) but there is no comment in the server. Any suggestion?
