I'm getting really frustrated as I'm in the final stages of publishing to the Internet and the program keep crashing.
I am able to fill in all the ftp information but on the next page if I click on anything (including the folders and files, I get an error message saying that Website X5 has stopped working and it closes the program.
If I click 'start' I get a message saying 'The specified folder already contains some files that will be overwritten. Do you still want to proceed?' If I click on OK or Cancel, it crashes.
I'm using version 8.0.16.

I've just managed to get it to work on my old laptop, which runs Windows 7. My new laptop is the one that keeps crashing and that one runs Windows 8.1. Is version 8 not compatible with Windows 8.1? Does that mean I will have to upgrade to version 10 if I want to use it on my new laptop?
Thanks.
Yes it is compatible, it's probably explorer 11 that installs some software that gives you trouble. deinstall it, search here in answers there are several topics for this problem with more specific details, for instance:

Again, I couldn't really follow what I'm meant to do to fix it. Can you explain it simply? Thanks.
Kerry,
The simple version has 2 options:
1
is to use a different program for uploading.
download fillezille, its free, enter your acces information for website acces.
then in x5 export your website to a map on your hard drive.
after that upload the exported website from harddrive with fillezilla to your internet location.
2
goto you coniguration screen, select software, deinstall internet explorer 11, after that the upload should work normally from x5. (if not use option 1 that should always work)
Option 1 always works, no matter what version of x5 you use, I don't seem to have any problems with v8 (converting all v8 templates to v9, 10 & 11) uploaded a few with no probs on windows 8.1 with ie11, but definately try the above and let us know how it goes.
