The specified project is in use or has not been closed correctly  en

Hello,

I recently had a situation where Windows crashed while I was editing a project in v13.1.4.13 Since that time I receive the message "The specified project is in use or has not been closed correctly. Do you want to continue?" each time I open the project. I click OK and it opens for editing with no issues at all, which is good!

My question is whether there is a file in the project folder that exists when the project is open, and therefore needs to be deleted in order to stop the message from appearing.  Thankfully it's not creating a problem, but it would be nice to not see the message every time.  I'd appreciate any suggestions you might offer.

Regards,

George

Hello George

When you have started X5 then in project-selection try to "mark" the project you have as problem.

Then click on "Duplicate".

Then continue with the duplicated project. This should help.

Kind regards

A possible solution, could also be, to export.

When you have "loaded" the project you have trouble with, then try to choose 5 - ANALYZE and export.

Here you choose "Export the Project".

Then the next time you start X5 then in "PROJECT SELECTION" import the project you have just exported.

Kind regards

Thanks John! I actually Exported the project last night, just as a precautionary measure, right before I posted this question.

I'll give your first suggestion a try (using "Duplicate") and see how that goes. If it doesn't have the desired result then I'll take your second suggestion to import the project that I exported last night.

Thanks once again for offering solutions so quickly! I'll post and update later this morning to let you know how it works.

Best regards,

George
