It only happens in a large project, and it is always when I have been working on it for several hours. I often opens then project early on the day, and it has been close to the evening when the problem arrives.

I dont get any messages, and the activity bar is progressing, but nothing happens. When looking at the process, the CPU is constantly 0%

I am running Win7 Ult.

As first try to see if repairing the .NET Framework helps to solve the issue:

To repair the .NET Frameworks 3.5 and 4 you need as first to use following cleanup tool to remove .NET 4:

Once done go to Control Panel then choose Programs and Features and then click on Turn Windows features on or off. Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1
This procedure can take some time to deactivate and activate .NET 3.5.1 and once done reinstall .NET 4 after downloading it from following link:

I could see that Acronis backup was started 16:00 so I posponed it to 18:00 and it seems like the cure - no program halt when saving, for several days now.
