Valerie, unless you have installed v17 very recently it will be removed when v2019.1.7 is installed.

Once you have v2019.1.7 fully installed, go to your profile (top right this page) and select download. Here you can download a modified version which when installed will allow you to have both versions installed.

Before opening your project/s in v2019 it is strongly recommended to create an iwzip in v17 (step 5, export project). When you first open the project in v2019, allow WX5 to create a copy/backup of the project so you can continue to work on it in v17 as well if you wish.

wav is not support by WX5 (mp3 is and it is smaller)

Why in the world would v.17 get removed when v.2019 is installed?

This means I would have to buy a second computer if I wanted to keep v.17 as well as the latest version.

you wouldn't lose WebSite X5 v17 by installing 2019.1: the new version would overwrite the installation path of version 17, but by downloading version 17 again, it would be installed into a different folder, so that you can keep both versions on the same PC.
