What is the correct procedure to configure a database for contact form obj.  en

I want to send contact us form data to a database.
This is an option on the contact form object.

When I select this object, under the "You may also like" there are no suggestions on how to setup a database and link the webform content to the database.

Is there a Help template on how to do this, and how to subsequently access the saved data.

Thanks

The database parameters are only entered once for all objects with database use under ....

5 Export > Export the website to the Internet / Parameters ...

          _____________/ data management /__________

If the inclusive web hosting from WebSite X5 is used, then all parameters are already entered and the item "Parameters..." is not available.

Ok, so then there is no need for me to enter the parameters, how do I recall the records sent to the database from the contact us form?

Since I don't use a database for the contact form myself, the other users would have to help here.

Hello Ray,
in the settings of the Contact Form what you do is determine the name of the table where the Contact Form data will be stored.
WebSite X5 automatically generates tables depending on which functions are used, with a format such as w5_1kqcjbb6_tablename, the middle part being an ID associated with your project.
In order to view the table and its contents, you would need to access your database with the tools available for your hosting space, in the case of our hosting for example you can log into phpMyAdmin from your hosting dashboard, using the database name and password found in the section Manage Database next to the login button.
I remain available.

Hi Eric,

Please would you refer me to a list of viable <attribute> name's that can be selected.
Is there any reference document on your website that explains how to complete a simple contact form and prepare it to save the data into a database showing the range of attribute names?
Or is there a video tutorial available please?

Hello,
the <name> attribute is useful especially when using the option "Send the data to a file" rather than sending them to a database, you should instead fill the field below it, "Database Field Name", where you can simply refer to the name of the field you have used to retrieve the data more easily.

Hello Ray,
yes, as I mentioned this is useful mostly for another type of setting for the contact form, "Send data to a file" rather than "Send data to the Database".
Are you trying to configure the form in a specific way that requires this?
In any case, you can use the field name in here if you wish to fill it, avoiding spaces, commas and so on (for example if the field is Your Name you can use your-name here).
There is no specific list of attributes to be used.
I remain available.

Thanks Eric,  I was wondering if it was used when creating the database columns by specifying type of data being saved and size of field, but it seems thats not the case.

One thing that I have noticed is that you have to complete the the Contact Form object with all the database field names specified before you start to use the Contact Form object, otherwise the system creates default field names, and then when you later decide to name the fields, rather than rename the defaults, it adds extra fields to the end of the record, which can make it an issue when re-displaying the contents of a table.

Is the best solution to this to once you have named all the Database fields, you change the table name, so that it creates a new table from scriatch with the correctly names field names?

I just watched the video on MagicSite, looks very interesting, I will try it out on my next website but looks great, and answers the questions when using AI of providing a structure to allow for easy customization and support, you guys have done a great job!

Hello Ray,
yes, to optimize the table it would be best to proceed like you described, if the form did not initially have names set for all fields, to avoid manipulating an existing table.
Thank you for the feedback regarding MagicSite!
