Last year I did not make the upgrade due that no significant upgrades where made and reported bugs persisted in lated demo versions.
I've just upgraded to version 2020.1 and found is extremely slow, takes up tu 10 minutes at least )(sometimes takes more) to save or preview.
Has crashed twice in just hours after installed.
My version 2019.1.8 was working fast and with no problems.
¿are improvements really worht the slow down? ¿is that normal? ¿are there new requirements that I have missed?
Switching back to old version, let me know if this get fixed sometime.

Going back to version 2019.1.8 from 2020.1 has been a complete pain in the
I don´t know what the installer from 2020.1 has done, my actual installation of 2019.1.8 has crashed big time
Going to uninstall everything to reinstall old version.
Anyone with the same problem?
Agustin, after installing v2020.1 you will need to download v2019.3.17 (assuming you are entitled to it) from your profile and install it (Incomedia modify the last release of a version after releasing a new version to allow both to co-exist). I note you are bringing a project in from v2019.1.8, if this is the case I recommend exporting the project (step 5) to create an iwzip, then import the iwzip into v2020.1.7. As soon as it is in, go to manage objects, update and update any objects that need it.
As for speed issues, another user is having similar issues, could you check the following.
Could it be that you are using 3rd party antivirus/malware/firewall (eg Norton, Avast, AVG, Kaspersky, etc)? I use Win 10 and only Defender. I have found some packages are very aggressive and scan everything opened and closed, and the way WX5 works this has a major impact
The only other thing I have found that cripples WX5 is working across a network, from an external (USB) device and allowing one drive (or similar) to manage your files in the cloud. I have turned off one drive and synchronise to the cloud manually if I ever want to.
Please advise

I imported the project, it took more than 15 minutes.
I updated all extensions, none of them were active in my project.
With no changes on the project I previewed it took another +10 minutes.
Ok lets assume that is because first run... all over again, even I didn't change anything on the project, Im asked to save, took another 12 minutes with program unresponsive.
Opening the project from scratch after all of that with a fresh reboot... took less than 10 seconds
Preview the project with 1 change in shopping cart , made system unresponsive at preview and has been 20 minutes and still waiting, I'm leaving my desk, maybe some times this will end.
I have been 1 hour here, your advise did not worked, any other thoughts before I claim the money back warranty?
My computer runs on a freshly installed windows 10 up to date and SSD drive with 8gb RAM, I was runnning perfect before upgrade, even my old version crashed. ¿common libraries? Just guessing
Thank you
PS I never upgraded to Version 2019.3.17, no significant features were implemented and demo version did not correct errors I reported, so no, i cannot install or use that version.
Agustin, please keep posting within this thread, but there is another thread with a similar issue here https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/de/post/226120
I am surprised that performance has apparently suffered so badly in the move from v2019.1.8 to v2020.1
If you wish that I try your project on my PC (where I have suffered no apparent slow downs between versions) then see my last posts on the above thread.
Just for interest if you make an identical change to the shop in v2019.1.8 how long does it take to save/preview or ctrl+preview?
The only trap I have encountered is that each new version introduces minor variations, so for instance in a shop it may be necessary to make the boxes deeper to accomodate the same amount of text (because some wiz kid changed the default line spacing) as in earlier versions. This apparently simple change will affect a large number of pages in a large catalogue which must be regenerated and saved. Similarly a very minor tweek to a header/footer/sticky bar/structure requires every page to be regenerated and this can be extremely time consuming.
BTW, if you still have time within the 30 day grace period, you could hope that v2020.1.8 is released and you can try it. One of the changes coming is "Solved speed issues for projects including a store"

My license deactivated for no reason, I've checked and ist active right now, I'm planning to deactivate save project before preview, seems like saving is the issue last night took about 30 minutes
Hello Agustin
If I understand correctly, you have e-commerce in your project.
I would like to let you know that performance issues were found in the new v2020 and were fixed in v2020.1.8 for projects containing e-commerce specifically
Please try updating the software and let me know if you notice any improvement
Thank you
Stefano
