Understanding keywords and meta-keywords

Hi
I created a website and added meta keywords under the advanced settings. I added my page to the google webmaster tools and my page has been found and analysed by google.
The keywords that are listed in google webmaster tools are keywords that appear in my page-content (texts etc). But none of the keywords that I added in the meta-tags has been found.
Why this? Aren't those meta keywords supposed to tell google what keywords to use for the webpage?

Google doesn't use "KEYWORDS" in the Meta Tag (Other SE's possibly do) it uses the "KEYWORDS" in your Titles and Descriptions.... Apply ' keyword density ' to your website!! (Google it)
