Cannot install updates to wesitex5 pro  en

I am trying to install an available update to wesitx5 pro 10. I get partially into the install when an error window opens to say that it is unable to install: "Error while updating:406 It was not possible to install the files on your computer. Please verify that all programs are closed and restart the update." Please help.

Andrea,

Try downloading from your profile here in Answers the full download and install that one. This usally helps. (top righ buttun -> download)

A backup is not needed your project will stay available. (But t o make one can never hurt !!)

unfortunately, that does not work. I just tried that and now get this error message:

c:/Program Files (x86)\Wesite X5 v10 - Pofessional\WebsiteX5.exe

An error occurred while trying to replace the existiong file: DeleteFile failed; code 5. Access is denied.

Click retry to try again, ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or abort to cancel installation.

Several retries bring no success.

Hello Andrea,

Please try the following:

1. Backup your X5 project files as Andre suggests

2. Uninstall your existing installation of WebSite X5

3. Reboot your PC

4. Verify that the following folder is now deleted from your computer  -  c:/Program Files (x86)\Wesite X5 v10 - Professional

5. Right-click on the setup file downloaded from your profile here on Answers, and select 'Run as administrator'

I cannot believe I have wasted so much time on this! I was thinking of purchasing 11, but this was such an unreal 'event' already, and I am worried the same thing will happen when I try to install 11.

Finally worked in combination with these final solutions:

1. had to manually stop 10 from running in task manager

2. turned off firewall & antivirus

3.  uninstalled 10

4. installed from 'download' from my profile as admin
