Problem with email for version 11  en

Hello,

I have a really odd problem. I re-created a website in to the latest software version 11 from version 8. I have also created a mobile site on a subdomain in the new software.

I have tested both email forms and the mobile site is working fine but the original site isnt, I'm not receiving the email. The settings are exactly the same but when I found the email wasn't working, I just copied and pasted the email form object from the mobile site project and pasted it into the original site just to make sure all settings would be correct but it is still not working.

I have contacted a guy from my hosting company who has tested things and said that everything is working fine their end.

This is what the guy said:

Please note, as I can see from my end there is no issue from server side. I uploaded test script in alice-guest-house-cheltenham.co.uk.

It is mail_test_windows.php. There, in code of script, please replace word mail in row:

$sendto = "mail";

To your mail box and launch in your browser:

http://alice-guest-house-cheltenham.co.uk/mail_test_windows.php

And you will see that there is no issue with sending messages.

I am completly baffled as to what the problem could be

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Karen

. . . did you have a look here ?

If problems occur when sending e-mails, it is possible that the Server you are using does not have a standard configuration. Try changing the script settings and those for sending e-mails, using the options in Advanced Settings | Data Management. For further information, contact your webspace provider.

You do need HTML 5.* and CHARSET UTF-8 (Unicode) for v 11.

Hello again Pcssa,

I have actually looked in the help section for the email form object.  The odd thing is, I have another site and sub domain using version 11 and all works well in both, hosted on the same server so I must have the HTML 5* and CHARSET UTF-8 (unicode) right?
