We are having problems with both the native FTP client and using filezilla.

If fillezilla and x5 have trouble then you need to look inside pc connections (like firewall) internet and host, So;
check your host, and change settings in x5 (change passive FTP setting) Are your ftp adress and password ok ?
Also see that your firewall is not interfering (switch it of for a small test)
