I just started using website x5 v12 because of the responsive design. However when I activate the responsive design and have designed the template. The header however can only be made for the desktop. In preview the header content disappears when displaing for mobile viewport because it can not scale. Either :
1) the mobile header/footer should be designed separately for eacht viewport
or 2) the objects in the header should be selectively shown in different viewports
This way I only have a header for the desktop and none for the mobile viewports.
How to accomplish this?

You can add an image in the header under template style, responsive template structure

I really can only select template, selevct the style and then modify the template header and footer. But only for the desktopstyle; No mobile header can be defined or modified. I tried my own headers or standard headers.
I don't get it.
Try this to get the mobile header.
Enter ‘General Settings’
Click Responsive Design Tab
Enable Responsive Design
Enter ‘Template Design’
Select ‘Responsive Template Structure’
o Apply a Header image, you will need to prepare this in an Image Editor
o Select a Colour for the Footer
o Enter some ‘Footer’ information or / and a further image for the footer.
You will need to play around a little, its not 100% but 90+% is OK

I am very sorry (also for my late response), but I don't get it. I did it all, but in changing the info in the template I only see the desktop template choice for editing header/footer, I don't see any mobile header/footer editing choice. These headers are fundamentally different and I can't make two different headers.
Apparently for the desktop version I have to change the header content in "adjust template" and for the mobile header I have to edit a header in "template style". Not logical. I think I need an editor for header/footer like I have for the desktop. Is this wrong?
Hello Hans,
The previous answers given in this thread by both Esahc and Nigel P. are correct.
The responsive viewports use a separate template with unique headers and footers (Step 1 General Settings > Template Style > Responsive Template Structure).
