Why is it not possible to use gradient website backgrounds?

Hi all,
Why is it not possible to use gradient colors for websites background. Am talking then about the pages, footer and header backgrounds. At the moment it s only possible to give it only one solid color. this option is really needed for this modern websites. Also there has to be an option to make webpages fully or partialy transparant which is not possible either at the moment.

Fully transparant is possible.
Why do you want your background to be gradient ? It makes no sense to look through your background.
It's normal to set your background and make content gradient.
Can you give an example site of this ? You make me curious.... :)
You can always make an Idea post for Incomedia to take this into account for next updates / versions .....
