Hello G. Lewis,

Please browse to the following path on your computer C:\Users\The Admin username\AppData\Local\Incomedia\  -  having done so check if there is a folder present named WebSite X5 v11 - Evolution and if there is a file called licence.iwl inside this folder.

If this folder exists and the file is there, copy the folder and paste it under C:\Users\Your Windows username\AppData\Local\Incomedia and then start the program.

Obviously you will need to replace 'The Admin username' and 'Your Windows username' with your actual usernames.  Please also be aware that you may need to go into Folder Options and set Windows to show hidden folders before the 'AppData' folder will be visible.

I am rather confused about your question regarding Evolution 11 and Windows 10, etc. as I recall that in a previous thread you stated that Evolution 11 was working great on that operating system after some initial difficulties?

Did you revert back to your previous operating system afterwards?

Kind regards,

Paul

Hey!

It must be a problem with the privileges X5 is getting from windows, try the following:

Right Click the icon of X5 and select "Run as administrator".

Other option is:

Right click the icon of X5 and select "Properties", then go to "Compatibility" and finally select "Run this program as administrator"

Thanks for the update.  Please wait for the Incomedia support staff to respond with instructions on what to do next (they usually do this within 24/48 hours, but bear in mind that support hours don't extend over the weekend).

In the meantime you can also try the following:

  • Uninstall WebSite X5, then log on to Windows as an administrator and reinstall by right-clicking on the setup file and selecting 'Run as administrator'
  • When attempting to activate WebSite X5 temporarily switch off any firewall on your system which might interfere with the activation process
  • When running WebSite X5 use the same Windows account as that with which you installed the software.  Start the program with administrative rights by right-clicking on the setup file and selecting 'Run as administrator'

Hey GL, open up win explorer and click on tools.

Then go to: "Folder Options" and "View"

Then turn on "Show hidden files, folders and drives".

Then uncheck "Hide ext. for know files types" and "Hide protected os files (rec.)".

Now you should be able to see your folder/license file. These are hidden by default for the obvious. You may want to turn back on/off after your copy. If you cannot find them in your admin or user profile you may have to reinstall.

Regards - Donald
