Dear fellow X5 (9) Users,

In X5 I made a sitemap like this:

Subject 1
- subject 1 page
- subject 1 page 2

Subject 2
- subject 2 page
- subject 2 page 2

When uploading this, you'll get www.domain.com/subject-1-page, www.domain.com/subject-1-page 2, www.domain.com/subject-2-page and www.domain.com/subject-2-page.

I want to change that to www.domain.com/subject1/subject1page, www.domain.com/subject1/subject1page2, www.domain.com/subject2/subject1page and www.domain.com/subject2/subject1page2.

How can I bring the same structure in the online website as the sitemap his within the program?

Kind regards

So what your saying is that if I want to use the same structure as in the sitemap I have to make a new project for every item/group?

like:

www.domain.com/tablets/samsung/type (one project)
www.domain.com/tablets/samsung/type2 (recon same project as one then)
www.domain.com/tablets/windows/type (project 2)
www.domain.com/tablets/windows/type2 (project 2)
www.domain.com/smartphone/samsung/type (project 3)

that's a lot of work to get that sorted this way. Can't I alter the path another way?

Hello Bleeker,

This is the only way to have it since there's no other way to do it with the program.

Many thanks!

What if I manually edit all the pages and edit the a hreff links to the pages myself? Technically it should link towards the proper page but will the shop still work then?

If you do that it probably will work, but, if you don't mind asking, what is the reason you want this? It makes no diference for the visitor IMHO.

Maybe there is some other way to make it more clear, but x5 handles this all you don't need to worry about it. So maybe an explanation why can help us to understand better.

Thanks.

I am not familair with that. It should not make any difference for the SEO.

Where did you read this ? I would like to learn more about it.

By the way v12 has much better SEO options then V9 if that's your concern and even there the build up of pages internally is the same as V9.

Thanks !

Site structure is very importent for google to understand your site correctly. Also you can use it to promote your keywords

In this sample:

Domain.com/tablets/samsung

Is much better than domain.com/samsung

If u want to promote the keyword tablets

Well Andre,

I'm not really having a website about tablets and stuff but a website where you can buy little electronic components. Like LED's, resistors, coils, capacitors, diodes. Also build circuits for AC or DC. Since I have so many LEDS to sell I have to order them on size. So now I have to call my pages for LED like: LED 1.0mm LED 2.0 mm LED 2x2.4 mm flat top etc. On other websites I see /LED/1.0mm for example. looks a lot better and all is catagorized. I can store all information about the catagory in the /led/ or /conductorsandcapacitators/1.6x2.0/  so i don't get them massive /conductorsandcapacitators-1.6mm x 2.0mm.html names for the pages

Same with this website ....websitex5.com/post/142244 looks a lot better then ...websitex5.com/142244. You see what you are looking at straight away. More clearly

I see what you mean, but this is not possible in x5. And manually would be a lot of work.

In v12 there is a shop, it would be a also a lot of work but maybe it looks and feels better.

have you tryed the demo of v12? Mayba that something ?

Does not look that difficult to add it to your future version.

almost All website builders work like this.

Hello Avner,

If you want to suggest a new function in the program it needs to be suggested with an Idea post so the developers will take it in consideration for the future releases of the program.

Many thanks!
