How to prevent text numbers changing to a link in EDGE browser

Using V12 Pro and Windows 10.. The page in Chrome is OK.. Same page in EDGE has problem in that a simole phone number converts to a LINK. If a user clinks on the link it asks what application to use to open it..
Initial display in EDGE is OK but after a few seconds the link underline appears and the yellow text changes to blue.
