Preview video not available - despite preview button ticked  en

Unable to preview videos (youtube) despite having ticked the preview button.  I am able to see the videos if I tick each browser (ie, mozilla, chrome) in the top right corner.  However it is useful to be able to see the video within the program when working.  The HTML options button is also greyed out?

On another note I wanted to know if it is possible to hide the blog page within a members only area?

...probably your first trouble it is for lack of Java updating; check it.

About your second need with program you can manage the comments only, perhaps someone knows some html code to do this...

Hello Lorna,

The reason that you cannot preview the YouTube video is because the URL you are using is not quite correct.

YouTube uses SSL security nowadays, so you need to prefix your URL with https as opposed to http, as follows:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dJOJJ-Ab3A

If you enter the URL into the YouTube/Vimeo Video URL field exactly as above then you will see that the the preview works correctly (remember also to allow sufficient time for the video to load behind the scenes, and make sure that your firewall settings allow WebSite X5 to connect freely to the internet).

If you haven't yet installed Flash in the preview browser, then you can do that by following the instructions in this thread:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/62146

It is normal for the HTML5 tab to be greyed out when selecting a YouTube video as the source in a Video Object.  YouTube itself takes care of the file format(s) in such cases.

Please open a new thread to discuss the question relating to the blog.  This helps everyone all round, including those searching the forum in future  -  many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul
