I had my computer and backup stolen.  How do I reactivate my existing website on a new computer? I was using  evolution 11 at the time.  I have been onto the Incomedia website but cannot find a way to reactivate my old website.  Any help please?

Hello Geoff,

Unfortunately there is no way that WebSite X5 can import raw HTML/CSS files, etc.

The next best thing is to copy and paste as much of the data (text, images, media files, HTML code) from the old site into the various Text, Image, HTML Objects, etc. in a new WebSite X5 project.  This will certainly speed up development.

For future data security, export your projects regularly as IWZIP files in Step 5, and store these in a safe location remote from your computer...  e.g. cloud backup, etc.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks for your reply.  We are onto a new computer and have found the back up files for our version 11.  Having gone through  the files, which are xml and iwprj etc, how do I reinstall them onto the new machine?

The instructions for restoring from a backup are detailed here:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/47713

The article references version 10, but the procedure is similar in versions 11 and 12.

Hello Paul.  Thanks for that info.  Have read through post 47713 and tried to implement but for some reason the program which appears is version 10 and not version 11.  Is it possble to download version 11 again (originally downloaded from yourselves) to reinstall the files.  Would I get into difficulty if I uograded to version 12?

Kind regards

Geoff
