No menu after importing to Evolution 13

Hi, On importing projects into Evolution 13 there is no horizontal menu, just three bars on the right of the window that expand into a vertical window when clicked.

I have tried turning off the 'responsive' option and the menu displays correctly with no wrapping of the text or buttons. Any ideas?

Try reducing the size of the buttons in your menu.

OK - if I reduce the width of the menu to 65 it displays - but this uses a fraction of the width of other content on the page! Please see partial screen capture attached.

OK - the problem appears to be with separators - when I remove these everything is fine. As soon as I add one the menu dies again. I can live without them, but it does seem like a backward step.... Any ideas?
