Getting "Image Generation Error" on some Thumbnails in some Galleries - V13  en

I am getting a small number of "Image Generation Errors" on a small number of Thumbnails within Galleries.

I have tried holding down the CRTL key whilst pressing Preview but this did not fix it.

The affected images are from old JPG's ( hence small in size - approx 250-280Kb ) and are also B/W.

I have attached an example.

Can anyone help with this ?

Chris, for want of any other solution, you could open the problem images in a suitable package (irfanview?) and save as.

The old images may use a now unsupported compression.

Hi

this has been a common issue through most of the x5 versions, but here's a solution that I used, open a HTML widget at the bottom of the page set the height to 0 then in expert add your images in there defining the file path that you used for your images, this just ensures that your images are uploaded correctly.

regards

jamie

Chris, did you fix your problem?

If not, rather than looking at the size of the image on the hard disk, look at the size in pixels. The example you posted is 1456x1000, I am sure your website does not require this size and is probably less than 1000pixels wide. I suggest you resize the image/s to a maximum width of 1024pixels (or less if you are displaying at perhaps half screen) and I believe your website will become stable and more responsive once you replace the images in the gallery.

PS I resize all images and add the suffix -s so I always have access to the original image if need be.
