Changing header/footer text in V13 professional  en

Author: Harry G.

I am attempting to change font type/font size in both a header and footer in V13 professional.  I go to step 2-template customization-header and footer content.  A limited toobar appears to change position, but there is no way to change the font or font size as there was in V11 professional.

Can someone help?

Hello Harry,

You need to double-click on the 'Title Object' (represented by the icon with the letter 'A' in a square box) to enter its properties...  whereupon you will be presented with the font type and size settings, etc.

You can create a Title Object if one does not already exist, by dragging the 'A' icon from the palette in the lower left, and dropping it onto your header/footer workspace.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul-

I am still unable to make changes to the font type/point size in my header field, even following your instructions above.  When I double click on the title object nothing happens-no dialog box appears.  I have no problems making changes when I open this header in version 11 pro.  I'm wondering if Version 13 has some bug and is recognizing the text as an image.  Please see the attached screenshot jpg.

I would really appreciate further assistance-you've been a big help to me in the past.

Thanks-Harry

Hello Harry,

The text you had in Version 11 in Version 13 has been converted to an image and this one cannot be edited. You need to remove it and use the Text or Title Object in Version 13 to create it again.

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio-

I went ahead and recreated my header object text.  I need some further assistance please.

I am having much difficulty using the repsonsive resolution feature in Version 13 professional.  I upgraded from Version 11 professional so I never used version 12, which is the version I believe first contained this feature.  I have my pages marked with the responsive site option (see attachment) but apparently it is not being applied to headers and footers.  When I check my site (harrygoldstrom.com) in Google search I get a message that my site is not mobile friendly.  I cannot find any way to fix this problem.

As a related question, I also cannot find a way to preview any of my pages in the responsive mode at different resolutions before uploading them as live pages, which is a real hindernece in my opinion. See second attachment.

Any help to solve these issues would be much appreciated.  The responsive design feature is the main reason I upgraded to version 13, and at the moment it is not working for me.

Thanks-Harry

In all resolutions header width equal 960px.
Check alignment and size of objects in header and footer for all resolutions.
Check header width in all resolutions and try Ctrl+Preview for update project.

Hello Harry,

In the header and footer content section you need to click on the left where you se the different breakpoints and then adapt the content for all the different breakpoints. At the moment the title you entered is too big for the last breakpoint and you need to reduce it in this view. If you redice it on the other breakpoints it will keep the size on the desktop view you have set since you edit every view separately.

Many thanks!

Hello Claudio-

I don't mean to be a nuisance with this issue, but I still cannot get the responsive resolution feature to work in the header/footer.  I followed your steps in the above post - creating a header for each of the breakpoints - 960,720, and 480 and saved the template.  But when I reduced the font size in the  480 view, it reduced the size in all of the other breakpoints as well.  The desktop 960 view was not what I originally created.  It was the same size as the 480.

What am I doing wrong?

-Harry

Hello Harry,

If you change the font size in the object this one is valid for all the breakpoints. You an also hide the object in the lower resolution and add another one with smaller font size.

Many thanks!

Just trying this software out......the maximum breakpoint is 960px....what happens when it is viewed on screens resolution 1366px  or say a 22 inch monitor?? Seems to me it will sit in the middle with space around?  Impractical to set all size breakpoints above 960px.

Hello Graham,

you can increase the desktop breakpoint in step 2 Resolution and responsive design by selecting the deskop breakpoint and modifying it.

If you open the 960px website on a screen with bigger resolution the content will be in the center with space on the sidess.

Many thanks!

Ah...that was what I was afraid of....!!! I can do this with my (non responsive website builder)!

I cannot put in all the additional breakpoints for 20", 22"  24"  Tv etc.

I am comparing your product with DUDA  and tey scale upwards automatically.

Hello Graham,

no but you can start the desktop view from a higher width and then use the lower breakpoints for the smaller resolutions.

Many thanks!
