Web hosting question and ftp

I tried to export my finsh website x5 evolution 12 but im so dummy about the ftp thingy etc and so confuse about configuration , router Ip address blah blah blah.
Now my question is id I purchase a web hosting do I have to underwebsite under gone the same thing if i want to publish my website to the internet? Oh please I need help!

Rachel, assuming you are using the built in FTP in WX5, your ftp address is usually your domain name without the www. in front
When you signed up, they would have sent you a username and password, enter those and click save password.
If you now click next, it should prompt you for a destination, normally this is public_html
That should do it.

ok so I purchased a web hosting and domain transfer but its not working .
Rachel - did they provide a username and password in an email?
If so that email will have any other relevant info you may require as well. How long ago? Sometime it takes a day or so to transfer and make your new domain name location visible (in the meantime, going to your domain will bring up the old site).
If it doesn't work - ask the question again (or a new one), and unless I specifically know the answer I shall remain silent. That way Incomedia or one of the moderators should answer.
