Header JPG file looks OK on preview but is chopped off when uploaded

My header is a single jpg file which is 872 x130 pixels. When I preview the page it looks fine. Once it is uploaded it comes up much larger and in consequence the right hand side is cut off.
This eems to have occured recently (possibly after upgrade to V13).
Any suggestions welcomed.
