Weights and shipping prices

Hi
I have a problem with the way the shopping cart is working out costs for shipping based on weight.
Every item has been assigned a weight. I have also assigned costs and weights within the delivery method section.
The problem is if a customer purchases multiple variois items within the shop the price for shipping does not increase, although if the customer purchases 2 of the same item then the price for shipping increases.
I need the software to work out total weights within the shopping cart or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Paul,
I've tested with the program and everything seems to work normally.
Anyway, could you please tell me exactly what tests you did (which products, which payment methods and so on)? So I will be able to recreate your situation and help you further.
Also, if you want you can send me some screenshots of your projects while you're setting the payments and the weight.
