Try using ctrl key wwith preview, it takes a bit longer to load.

Still problems, try a new page and see if same things happen, else delete the one that does not work.

Check if uoload foldder is correct if you don't see changes, if correct, use F5 in browser to reload website page.

No that doesnt work. Ive been using Website X5 for years and never had a problem before.

I hadn't used it for a while and i'm currently using a duplicate program on my laptop with the website in question imported to that laptop, this may be causing the problem but the original software and project is on my PC which is in spain while im in the UK.

The software seems to work ok on this laptop but the first problem i noticed was that changes i made to my website on my laptop were saved to my project fine but after uploading (which was easy and without a hitch) were not visible online, nothing changed, strange i thought especially as my hosts control panel showed that they had been updated.

The problem has become clearer as today i have created a new page on my laptop using WebsiteX5 evo11, this new page should create an extra tab on the main page but it doesn't, it appears on the sitemap but no new tab when i create a preview of the site and if i try to create a preview of the page itself i get the message "cannot load the page"

I have tried everything, the problem seems to be with the software on my laptop. I can update a page and save it but when i preview it the changes are not there, its like the changes I make go no further than the software. i can add a page and it appears in the sitemap but not in previews or uploads.

Yes. it looks a bit like pc problem. Any firewall, or user restrictions maybe ?

Is it a laptop with touchscreen ? That can also sometimes crreate strange behavior.

No, if all updates  are installed, also from windows, and you have set firewall off for test as well then I am lost also. maybe check on a different laptop without touchscreen? Or a remote screen maybe? i am just guessing here.....

James, are you using Evo 10 as on your profile, or evo 11?

If the project was imported, is it possible that the project is being saved in one place, but exported to a different directory (a legacy of being imported from a different PC).

When you open your project I assume all changes are in place, but when you preview they don't exist?

I am using Evo 10. Correct, when i open the project all changes are there, new pages are on the sitemap but none appear in the preview.

But when I exported to disk I chose the location and created a new folder, the project was exported to this location BUT without the changes or the new pages.

Ive located the save folder and the new pages are not in there, however ive looked through the sitemap in the save folder and the new pages are in the code.

Thank you for your help, I've upgraded to Evo 13 and the problem is sorted!
