How to secure the guestbook  en

Working with Websitex5 Evolution 13.

Our guestbook has recently come under attack by hackers who post irrelevant spams.

I know their I.P addresses.

I did not find a way to block I.P addresses with our current version.

Is there anything I can do, other than deleting their posts on a daily basis, which is a waste of time?

Does the Professional version allow to ban I.P addresses or a range of I.P addresses?

Thanks for your attention, and your answer.

If you haven't yet, possibly try Disqus or Facebook Comments.

They are usually a bit better in terms of security and spam.

Also consider using a CDN like Cloudflare which lets you block IP addresses to your website through Access Rules.

"Access Rules are a way to allow, challenge, or block requests to your website based on the IP address, IP address range, or country of the browser making the request."

Dear Jean-Pierre,

thank you for your message.

It is unfortunately not possible to ban an IP only using the software functionalities. What you can do is to choose to approve the comments before having them published on the website. In this way you will have more control on the comments you receive.

Please let me know if I can be of further help. Kind regards.
