Hi everyone,
I would like to do blog for my wife. We have travelled a lot and she has some ideas what to write about the places we ve been to. BUT I m absolutelly without any idea what to do. I saw an option in X5 13 to create a blog but I have no idea how can it look like.
I saw some templates but I still don t know how to create the web page, when there will be more articles how can I sort them, or hide them... Basic things I couldn t find here, and how about switching it to PHP - no idea what should I do...
So I m just basic user :-)

Ivan, the best way to learn the limitations and advantages of a blog is simply to create one.
Click on Settings (step 1), Advanced, Blog
Give it a name and write a description
Now Add a blog entry
Give the blog entry a title, a category, name the author.
I then write the entry in the space provided and when done I go back and add a tag and a caption.
Click OK and preview
You will quickly see how it looks through preview and whether or not you can improve the tags, caption, etc.
Add as many blog entries as you like.
Once created you can create a link to the blog through text, a picture or if you wish a new menu level (then use properties to link to the blog), you simply link to a local website page which you will find under special pages after all your web pages, the blog will have the name you gave it.
The theme will be inherited from your current template.
If you get stuck along the way, post a question here and one of us will explain the steps (with screenshots if necessary)

Hi guys,
Esahc.. thanks for explaining me the basic, I realized it is complicated to customize apearance of the blog the way I wanna have it. I m bounded to X5 options, which are not really options according to my taste. Thanks I went through so I can basically create at least some blog.

thank You too. I couldn t find relevant option for the blog in Your template, maybe I missed something. Can You explain me where to look for the blog on Your recommanded web page?

Hi Ivan,
you are right, there isn't a Blog section on the template yet: still, you can add it yourself. My suggestion was linked to the graphic and general website idea, but if you need the blog you can surely add it using the WebSite X5 function on Step 1.
