New version just weeks after making a purchase of V13  en

I recently purchased the recent version 13 (my 3rd version purchase. Now your telling me theres a version 14 on the way. This doesnt get more unacceptable. If your asking me to purchase again just a few weeks after making a purchase, its outragious behaviour. and abusing the very people that have kept this software going over the years.  If you release a new version less than 12 months after selling the previous version, it should be a free upgrade. I for one will certainly be looking into the legality of this for recent purchasers.  Always a new version, never an upgrade. Absolutely stinks.

Hello J. Dudley,

You are coming on pretty strong here. Have you asked Incomedia if there is any cost for the upgrade, given that your v.13 purchase was so recent?

If so, what did they say?

I have been buying software since the early 1980s,  many companies gave free upgrades if you purchased after the new version was announced, if you bought before, you paid for an upgrade.  I believe this is what Incomedia is doing, so this is nothing new or uncommon.   If this bothers you, only buy software that is just released, you may end up wait 8 to 10 months.   One other thing, new versions means dealing with more bugs, if you have the latest update of version 13, you have a more stable version than that of the original released of version 13.

Dear Dudley,

I am very sorry if you think that the timing hasn't been favorable for you. I have noticed that you have purchased the software on May, but please consider that WebSite X5 13 was released on the 11th of October 2016 and also that the new version will be out on the 18th of October, i.e. a year after.

Please let me reassure you, you will be able to keep using WebSite X5 13, don't worry about it. Your licence is yours forever and will remain active even if a new version is released. Also, in October you will receive a special 50% off offer for you as a user of WebSite X5 Professional 13 and you will be able to try the demo version, so you can decide if you want to upgrade or if you prefer to keep working with your current version.

I hope having clarified your doubts, but if you have any further inquires, please get back to me. I wish you a nice day.

50% off of what ??  having paid over £100 to go to the pro version in May, that to buy in another version just 4 Months afterwards, that the cost would be nominal. It may be a usual practise within the Company but that doesnt mean its a fair practise. Just Saying................ Just have to wait to see how much its going to cost I guess.

As an afterthought, your recent adverts stated that those buying v13 now would get a free update to v14. personally speaking I think 4 Months use is very minimal and probably a free upgrade to anyone purchasing v13 in last 6 Months might have been a fair compromise and a long way to promote customer loyalty in the product.

Hello J.

In my opinion, the price you paid for the PRO version of X5 is very reasonable for an application that offers so many features. You should easily earn back several times the cost of the software with your first paying client. I know I did.

Hi Dudley,

the price for WebSite X 14 will be the same as for the Version 13, so the final discounted price for WebSiite X5 Professional 14 would be £79,50 . I understand it can be a lot, and given the you have purchased Version 13 just a few months ago you can obviously keep using this version without having to upgrade, which is in no way compulsory, even if recommended. You can, if you prefer, upgrade later.

I hope I have reassured you. I wish you a nice day.
