Introduce Master Pages: Changing Many Pages From 1 Master Page  en

Hi,

A couple of websites I manage have over 100 pages and growing.  The problem I face is having to add objects of the same kind to each and every page and as you can imagine takes time.

I used to use Serif Webplus software and they had a function where you can add Master Pages to your site.

The Master Pages function similarly to the Header and Footer in Website X5, allowing you to add one object which would reflect across all of the website's pages.

For example; I manage an online health shop that has 4 different categories (health products, health practitioners, health articles, ailments). Each of these categories, the pages are set up differently with different objects.  If I want to add an object that is site-wide, or, for 1 category of 20 pages or so, I have to manually add it to each page.  It's time consuming frown

If I could add a Master Page for each of these categories I would only have to make changes on that Master Page - which would reflect on all of that Master Pages' category pages - making the change once rather than having to go to each page individually and making 20 or so changes.

I hope that makes sense.

My question or idea is, can Incomedia and Website X5 introduce Master Pages into the current software V14?

I see Donald.  Maybe Incomedia will show it some serious consideration.  I see lots of websites on this Forum that are larger than simple 5 pages websites and the thing with building your own you can have many pages without paying a web designer.

Incomedia what do you say?  Are Master Pages a thing of the future?

Hello Nigel,

Thank you for posting your suggestion which is still kept in consideration by the developers for the future releases of the program but unfortunately I am not able to tell you if and when a specific function will be added.

As soon as we add new functionalities we inform through our official channels like also Help Center.

In any case you can see what has been added in the program on our changelog after every update available on:

Many thanks!
