Registration page not connecting to the database

I have a registration page that in data management I have set for Database link. I entered the login credentials, server name, etc. Named the form labels in the options, even entered the connection PHP commands in an html insert for the page, yet I still get unable to connect to the DB message. My server is MYSQL Version:Â 5.6.32. I have tried many methods to connect...none seem to work. I have Evolution 14.
I have an online store opencart that I would like to use as a dual registration and login, but at this point I can't even send information to the database as is. HELP!!

Are the database connection data set in step 1 - Data management - correct?
Check please according to the information you received from your hosting provider if all is correct and in case update them and then export the project again online.
